SAVES committee changes

The March 2001 AGM marked changes to SAVES' committee. While continuing her active role, Mary Gallnor has stepped down as president and will assume the role of vice president. We are grateful for her ongoing tireless work in furthering the society's aims, especially in respect of her valuable knowledge of the political process. We sincerely thank Frances Coombe for assuming the position of president. She is certainly well placed for the role, with extensive knowledge and a long and active association with SAVES, including the role of vice president.

It is with thanks and much affection that we farewell Eric Gargett from SAVES' committee after sixteen years. However we are fortunate enough to retain his expertise as ongoing chair of the Task Force. Eric's immeasurable contribution over the years was acknowledged warmly by former committee member Bill Mettyear. We are fortunate to have both Eric and Bill still working with us.

Unfortunately Margaret Deacon was unable to renominate for the position of Minutes Secretary and leaves with our thanks and very best wishes. We now warmly welcome Lesley Harriss to the task. The other committee members will maintain their existing roles.
