SAVES Website

Readers may be interested to know that our website was given recent publicity by Samela Harris of The Advertiser. She included the site as one of nine she 'profiled' in her weekly Saturday column 'Net Adventures' on 18th May 2002. She stated : 'An elegant acronym if ever there was one: SAVES. It stands for the SA Voluntary Euthanasia Society'

Our site also has a 'counter' which advises the number of visitors to the site over a given period. The site includes :

  • Fact Sheets,
  • current and previous editions of the VE Bulletin,
  • SAVES Handbook
  • archival information
  • Articles of Enduring Interest
  • 'What's New?'
  • information on advance directives,
  • SAVES range of pamphlets, and much more.

Between 250-300 visitors contact the site in an average month, which is an indicator of the interest in the issue, considering the proliferation of sites around the world exploring the issue of voluntary euthanasia.

SAVES has also been approached by an educational publisher for permission to reproduce several of the Fact Sheets and other information from our site for a print run of 3000 copies for use in schools. This endorses the quality of the work undertaken by committee members over many years and is a positive use of our materials.
